Bruarfoss

Behold, the blue waters of Bruarfoss! This is the first waterfall we saw the night of our arrival in Iceland. We got there a little later than we anticipated so we were racing the light along the hike while also trying not to slip in the mud. When we got there a little light was coming from behind the mountains before the rain really started up again. This waterfall and river is so beautiful in how it swearls along with the amazing blue color. Not a bad choice for our first visit.

Eruption

It was an absolutely amazing experience to see the Fagragalsfjall volcano eruption live. This might be one of the most memorable experiences of my life and I got it all on camera! This is a six image vertical panorama blended with darker exposures for the lava coming from the volcano all shot on a DJI Mavic Air 2.

Hallgrímskirkja Pride

Reykjavik celebrates Pride month in June by painting the street leading to Hallgrimskirkja with a rainbow.

Nauthúsagil

Next to one of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland lies this not so famous waterfall. You start out in a dirt parking lot after arriving on a dirt road and walk a pretty non-descript pathway to the mouth of a revine and where the magic starts. You've got to cross a river a few times, several literally hugging the rock wall to not fall in, and scale a smaller waterfall with the help of some chains anchored into the rock. A little further and you come into the chamber where the this waterfall hides. It was such a cool experience having this place all to ourselves so we took our time enjoying it (while also getting very wet). After seeing some of the other massive waterfalls and epic vistas that Iceland has to offer it was so cool seeing this much smaller and intimate one.

Wreck

Seeing this downed plane may make you think of tragedy but before we go too far you should know that everyone survived! When I planned this I did not know it was quite the walk to the plane and I kind of figured with the weather i may not get a great photo but we trudged on anyway and I'm so glad we did!

Háifoss and Granni

From side on of Háifoss and Granni you can really see the scale of these waterfalls by finding and comparing me in this photo! Go head really zoom in, I promise I'm there.

Háifoss

This is Háifoss in the highlands of Iceland. Being on the edge of the canyon staring at the is waterfall was surreal.

The Black Church

When planning our Icelandic trip I couldn't resist placing Búðakirkja onteh itenerary while we were on the Snæfellsnes peninsula.

Arnarstapi #1

The wind brushed grass the the near inversion of the mountains in the clouds really do it for me in this photo.

Kirkjufell

I had originally planned and hoped for a gorgeous sunset with lots of colors that Kirjufell and Kirkjufellfoss are so known for but instead I got something even better but I didn't know it until I got home and reviewed this photo. The moody atmosphere and the cloud being formed from the wedge of Kirjufell. I love it and wouldn't trade it for all the colors in the world.

Svartifoss

The amazing columbs that make up the cliff of Svartifoss look man made but that's just Iceland for you.

Múlagljúfur Canyon

One of the lesser known and traveled locations in Iceland is this amazing canyon. To get here you have to drive through two small rivers, hike across one river and follow a sometimes confusing path but you get rewarded with this amazing view.

Diamond Beach

Sunset at Diamond Beach in Iceland. These lovely chunks of ice cover this beach year around and when you get a great sunrise or sunset these crystal clear pieces of ice reflect the light through them like prisms.

Jökulsárlón Glacier

I got the privelege of watching the sunset behind these clouds at the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and it's not something I'll soon forget.

Lómagnúpur

Taken from my drone of one of the most recognizable mountains in Iceland. I don't understand how all of these mountains are so impressive, iconic and unique.

Fjallsárlón Glacier

I touched the water in the lagoon.... It was unsuprisingly very cold.

The White Church

Strandarkirkja is the antithesis to my Black Church, Búðakirkja, and together they create such a harmonious balance.
