Cyclops Arch

Cyclops Arch in the Alabama Hills. When I scouted this area during the day I wasn't really drawn this this arch as a foreground but had a thought near here for a second location. On our way over there something about seeing the arch in the dark really changed my opinion. I set up and I forced a friend of mine to climb into the arch, hold the arch and hide. He wasn't too happy about it.

Star Gazer

Ariving in the dead of night made finding a composition difficult with some patience and caution to not get jabbed by the cacti I found this spot and just a light to give a nice backlight to the front cactus here.

Skywalker

While on a planned trip to the Alabama Hills my friend and I met some highliners who we hung around with and took photos of all day. While on a break I mentioned to one the idea of this photo and he was all for it. After the sun had set but while there was a little light left in the sky I had him climb on the line to get the base shot and then in post production I added this milky way from another photo I had shot elsewhere. The result might be one of the best photos I've ever made.
